We may all live in a great big global community, but in my Blog, it's my world.

After the Colts moved from Baltimore, Maryland, I didn't think I'd ever be able to cheer for them again but time heals many wounds and in the last few years I've come to at least respect the modern era Colts and especially their All Pro quarterback Peyton Manning.

Sitting here and watching the playoffs, Manning is, as noted in the headline, a study in efficiency and poise.  He is as steady as they come, and is incredibly quick at surveying the field and finding a receiver to get the ball to.  Where other QBs might struggle and take their time finding the open man, Peyton Manning is cool and methodical.  Check intended target, if not open, move on to the next quickly.

I wish I could have seen and remembered more of the greats along the way, at least from my lifetime.  I do remember Joe Montana, and well before him Johnny U.  I remember others too, including Staubach and others.  Marino for sure, along with John Elway.

All I can say for now is that I think Manning is setting a standard that will be hard for others (outside of perhaps Tom Brady) to follow.

The best quarterback on the field today was....Billy Volek. Improbable as that might seem.

Minus Ladanian Tomlinson and Philip Rivers, the Chargers were still able to beat Mannings Colts. You have to hand it to back up Billy V. who kept his composure and led his team down the filed.

True, but Manning had it pretty close and took it down to the wire really.

I am stunned that a Norv Turner coached team will play for an AFC championship.  The Chargers must be one helluva team to overcome that disadvantage.

I am disappointed that we won't see a rematch of the Pats vs. Colts for the AFC Championship, but New England seems the Team of Destiny.

In the meantime, Little Brother Eli is having a heck of a game!

What do you call 45 millionaires watching the Super Bowl on TV? The Colts.

I was thinking 'The Dallas Cowboys', but either works.

(and sadly, The Washington Redskins also fits there )

Yeah...you can interchange all but two teams...including my favorites. But it really is the best part of the season and all four games this weekend had a lot to offer. I am a Peyton Manning fan, too. He is a class act on and off the field. After Katrina, he and Ely chartered a plane, loaded it up with needed stuff and flew down to Louisiana to help distribute the stuff. They didn't announce it, didn't ask for help, just paid the bills and handed out the stuff. Class.
